1. My friend would love to make their own candle. How can I send the candle box as a gift?

No problem! Simply drop us a note on the shopping cart page. You can also write a personal message here if you like and we will include a card with your message. Please limit your message to 30 words. Enter your recipient's delivery address in the order process. We will wrap the box to keep it clean during transportation.

2. Are your essential oils and blends available for sale separately?

Currently we do not sell our essential oils and blends separately. They are only available with the candle boxes.

3. Do you sell finished candles?

Currently we do not sell readymade candles.

4. My candle box arrived and its contents are damaged. What should I do?

We try our best to protect the contents so they get to you safely. However if they are damaged during transportation, simply send us a photo of the damaged contents to hello@mylumicandles.com within 24 hours of receipt and we will send you a replacement box at no extra charge.

5. I have never made my own candles before. How difficult is it?

Making your own aromatherapy candle is unbelievably easy and therapeutic! You only need one of our boxes, a pot, a stove, a bowl and some water. Then it takes just 15 minutes to make the candle and 24 hours for the candle to cure (harden). Check out our video.

6. Is it safe to make a candle with my child?

Since candle-making involves hot water, hot melted wax and handling pure essential oils, we recommend that there should always be adult supervision throughout the candle making process.

7. How long does it take for my candle to be ready?

It will take you approximately 15 minutes to prepare the candle. Thereafter the candle needs to cure for at least 24 hours for the fragrance to set into the wax as it hardens. After this time, your candle is ready for you to enjoy.

8. After my candle hardened, the surface is cracked. Why did this happen?

When leaving your candle to cure, it is important that the candle is on a completely still surface without movements or vibrations as this will cause the wax to sink while hardening. Do not place the candle in a much cooler area (eg: refrigerator or outside in winter) as a sudden change in temperature will cause uneven hardening. One way to fix this is to keep some melted wax aside, then once the candle has hardened, melt the leftover wax and pour a thin layer of wax to smooth out any imperfections.

9. How do I ensure my candle burns nicely?

Always let your candle burn until the surface has completely melted before putting out the flame. This helps to prevent tunneling and ensures you have the maximum burn time from your candle.
